Leadership Team

Freeman S. Hall, President, has over 16 years of experience developing and delivering innovative business solutions. Most recently, Mr. Hall served as Vice President of Project Finance & Corporate Development for Turner Renewable Energy (TRE). He developed the investment strategy and led the investment in TRE (formerly DT Solar) for Ted Turner in 2006. After the acquisition, Mr. Hall joined DT Solar to develop the company’s capability to offer Power Purchase Agreements or PPA’s to customers. As an early innovator in developing PPA’s, Mr. Hall worked extensively with leading financial institutions to finance greater than 10MW’s of PPA’s in 2007 before TRE was sold to First Solar in November 2007.

Mr. Hall co-founded Ecos Technologies Inc., a leading provider of enterprise solutions for corporate environmental, health, and safety management with responsibilities for product marketing and sales from 2000 to 2004. Mr. Hall has also spent six years as a management consultant for Andersen Consulting’s Strategic Services practice and for clients such as DuPont.

Mr. Hall holds a BA from Duke University, and an MBA with distinction from The Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Michael J. Stern, COO, has over 20 years of experience managing engineering and construction of grid-tied solar electricity generating systems. He has been a successful senior executive in the solar energy industry since 1985, serving as President of Utility Power Group and Silicon Energy Corp, a Vice-President of Kyocera Solar, a Board Director of Schott Applied Power Corp., and most recently as President of Western Gas & Electric Company.

Prior to these senior management positions, Mr. Stern held supervisory and engineering positions with ARCO Solar Industries (now SolarWorld AG) and International Rectifier Corp. Mr. Stern earned a BS in Materials Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and has been issued several U.S. Patents for his work in commercializing PV technology.
